These pieces are a response to my life-long shyness and simultaneously growing rage. They are a way of breaking silence and practicing loudness. They consider the amplification of a gesture through multiplication of a single form to ask the question: when does a gathering have enough critical mass to seem powerful? They are explorations in strengthening materials that cannot in and of themselves hold a shape. They appropriate indicators of urgency and warning through neon color. They are economically modest: using second-hand or repurposed materials to interrupt the journey from store to landfill. Their handcraft is humble and practical.
